Over 250 enterprises in the capital have resumed the work

Over 250 enterprises of processing industry in the capital have resumed the work this week after an interruption due to coronavirus pandemic. However, the measures to prevent the wide spread of the dangerous infection are continued

Those, whose personal presence at the workplace is unessential, remain to do their jobs remotely. And those, who did come, work in masks and gloves along with reinforced disinfecting of all rooms. The “RG” correspondents saw how the urban industry is revitalizing at the example of Karachrov Mechanical Plant, an enterprise that produces each fifth elevator in the country.

The office building of the plant met us with silence and emptiness - Alexey Donskoy, Deputy Director General explaned that almost all office personnel works from their homes. “Accounting, sales and other office units work from home, - he said. - Also, there is nobody elder than 65 or suffering from chronic diseases. In total, this is 20% of the personnel. The remaining 80% of employees are already in the production shops."

By the way, last week, the plant did also not fully stop the production. In parallel with the President decree on the non-working week our company received an urgent order from the Ministry of defence - to build freight elevators for hospitals, which the Ministry is currently building throughout the country to be prepared for growth in the number of patients infected by coronavirus. “So, 35-40% of the personnel continued to perform this order, the remaining were sent home with preservation of their salaries, - continued Donskoy. - Actually, those, who is now not engaged directly at the plant, also will receive the salary in full, in average we pay 65 thousand roubles a month."

All 720 Moscow production plants continue to operate, but follow all requirements dictated by the pandemic.

No staff reduction is anticipated at the plant, it has enough orders, and now the production facilities have started to operate almost at full force. Many things depend on it not only in Moscow, but in the country, and even in the world, - said Alexander Prokhorov, director of Investment and production policy department. “The elevators of Karacharov plant are widely known and have a well-deserved confidence in the construction sector of Russia, CIS and are successfully operated in 26 countries of the world, - he said to the "RG". - In total, there are 4 large producers of elevators in Moscow, which manufactured 14 thousand units of the equipment last year. Over 14 thousand people are employed in this industry in Moscow.”

The elevators of Karacharov plant are traditionally used in the programs of overhaul and renovation for residential buildings. They installed in office, administrative, trade and other buildings, the line of produced lifting mechanisms is wide here. Following a specific order the plant is capable to produce even panoramic view cabins with continuous monochrome glazing, by pressing a button in such an elevator one can make the walls transparent or, on the contrary, tinted.

The plant production shops are buzzing with activity, but the safe distance between the people is complied, according to observation of the “RG” correspondent there are several tens of square meters for each worker. And many processes are automated in so much that a lonely operator simply monitors the performance of a smart machine with a computer.

Dmitriy Panin, the head of the section said, that he was worked all last days and happy about that, it is better to be in the production shop than sit at home in self-isolation. “Other employees are of the same opinion, - he assured. - Everyone wants to work and earn money. Moreover, we know that we perform the order for the hospitals, that means, our work will be helpful for those, who need the support most of all now”.

Last month, the plant, in spite of the non-working week, produced more than 600 elevators, as planned. In April, our plans are a bit more modest - more than 500 lifts. They also will be produced timely, as the people at the pant are confident.

According to Vladimir Efimov, Deputy Mayor of the capital for economic policy, property and land relationships, currently all 720 Moscow plants continue to operate, but in compliance with a number of strict requirements. Primarily, each plant ensures the employees’ safety: they are provided with masks and gloves, the production rooms are disinfected, as well as with an opportunity to meet the safe distance in 1.5-2 meters between the people. “By the results of the work in January-February this 720 enterprises brought to the city budget approximately 17.5 bln. roubles, - Efimov noticed. - The industry of the capital provides jobs for 610 thousand people, therefore, the restoration of its activities assisted to reduce the damage to the economy from the effects of the pandemic".
