On November 28, a webinar focused on the practical implementation of the Rules for the organization of safe use and maintenance of elevators, lifting platforms for disabled people, passenger conveyors (moving walkways) and escalators, with the exception of escalators in the metro approved by Order No. 743 of the Government of the Russian Federation of June 24, 2017, was held at the Ministry of Construction of Russia.
The broadcast was attended by Elena Solntseva, Head of the Department for Construction and Housing and Communal Services of the Russian Federation, Alexey Zakharov, Vice-president of the National Elevator Union and Sergey Chernyshov, President of the Commission on the lift system of the Public Council at the Ministry of Construction of the Russian Federation.
At the beginning of the webinar, Elena Solntseva recalled that the background of the Rules was not simple, and the total check of the elevator system which took place in 2016 following a series of high-profile emergencies revealed numerous violations during the operation of elevators. The rules regulate in detail the procedure for the operation of elevator equipment, but management organizations and housing inspectorates have some questions on its maintenance. Therefore, the Ministry of Construction has employed the NEU specialists in order to clarify some provisions of the document.
Alexey Zakharov, a main webinar speaker, consistently covered all sections of the rules, commenting on ambiguities. In conclusion, Alexey Sergeevich answered numerous questions.
As the technical services confirmed, about 1,500 people from more than 200 settlements in Russia took part in the webinar.
